In the name of beautification of our suburb, Rivonia Wide (RWRA) is proud to announce that this spring, we’re running a Spring Pavement Competition. This competition is a new initiative of the RWRA to encourage the Rivonia community to improve the public space and aesthetic outside their homes . Click Here to view gallery

1) What constitutes a pavement?
This is any area outside your property’s gate, or wall, whether it is residential or a business property.

2) How do we enter?
Take a before and after photo of your pavement and email it to rwraenvironmentalclub@gmail.com with the subject line “Spring Pavement Competition.” Please include your name, address (so that the judges can visit it) and a contact number. Your information will not be used for any purpose other than for the pavement competition.

3) What will we be judged upon?
Appearance and aesthetic; plants and flowers used; maintenance and durability; creativity.

4) What are the categories?

• Best residential pavement
• Best business pavement
• Best complex pavements
• Best street overall

5) When is the closing date?
15th November 2023 is the last day to submit entries. No entries submitted after this date will be considered. Winners will be announced soon after that.

7) Is there an entry fee?
There is no entry fee – this is an opportunity to exercise your green fingers, have fun and beautify Rivonia!

8) What are the prizes to be won?
There are some great prizes to be won! We are busy trying to secure some more sponsors and will share these on the website as they become available. If you would like to sponsor a prize, please contact us on rwraenvironmentalclub@gmail.com

9) Who decides the winners?
We have some great local judges who will be judging the competition.

10) Competition rules
Only Rivonia residents may participate in this competition. The judges’ decision is final. Winners will be announced at a community event. Prizes are not transferable. RWRA has the right to cancel the competition immediately and without notice for any reason, if needed.
